Almond Oil – Uses, Facts why almond oil is good for your skin

Almond Oil

Almond Oil

Almond Oil from the kernels of the sweet almond (Prunus dulcis) is a classic in skincare. It is very mild and makes the skin feel nice and soft.

It is valued, among other things, for its high content of monounsaturated fatty acids and its extremely skin-
friendly, lipid-replenishing, irritation-relieving properties.

The clear, almost odourless oil is shallow in acid. It is ideal, for example, for the care of older, sensitive
skin, delicate baby and children’s skin, or stomach care for pregnant women.

The almond oil obtained by cold pressing is then refined or left natural.

The dry almonds have surged next; they have been cleaned of impurities and peel.

After pressing, the oil is left to stand for several days to settle the slimy components.

Filter presses, then separate these off. The press residues sold as almond bran still contain up to 10% fatty oil.

Approx. Four hundred (400) litres of almond oil are obtained from 1 t of peeled almonds.
