Almond Oil

Almond Oil from the kernels of the sweet almond (Prunus dulcis) is a classic in skincare. It is very mild and makes the skin feel nice and soft.

It is valued, among other things, for its high content of monounsaturated fatty acids and its extremely skin-
friendly, lipid-replenishing, irritation-relieving properties.

The clear, almost odourless oil is shallow in acid. It is ideal, for example, for the care of older, sensitive
skin, delicate baby and children’s skin, or stomach care for pregnant women.

The almond oil obtained by cold pressing is then refined or left natural.

The dry almonds have surged next; they have been cleaned of impurities and peel.

After pressing, the oil is left to stand for several days to settle the slimy components.

Filter presses, then separate these off. The press residues sold as almond bran still contain up to 10% fatty oil.

Approx. Four hundred (400) litres of almond oil are obtained from 1 t of peeled almonds.

Uses Of Almond Oil for Skin

Uses Of Almond Oil

1. Massage oil

  • Carrying your baby around can quickly cause tension in the back or shoulder and neck area.
  • Then a gentle massage with almond oil is a real treat. The oil lets the hands glide more easily over the skin and ensures that it is not irritated by the friction.
  • Compared to some other oils, almond oil has the advantage of not being absorbed so quickly so that its lubricity remains longer.
  • But not only you or your partner are happy about such contact. You can also do something good for your baby with a massage.
  • You can find step-by-step instructions in our magazine article “Why a baby massage can work wonders.”

2. Make-up remover

  • As a mom, you’re usually happy to find time to put on make-up, if at all. And then the whole thing has to be removed again!
  • With almond oil, you can do the annoying make-up removal in no time at all.
  • Put a few drops on a damp cotton pad or washable make-up removal pad and run it over your face. Thanks to the moisturizing effect, you don’t even need to apply cream afterwards.

3. Body oil

  • Unlike body lotion, vegetable oils are applied to moist skin. So skip drying off after showering.
  • Together with the skin’s substances, this creates an oil-water emulsion that supplies your skin with the right mixture of moisture and oil.
  • Unlike on dry skin, the oil is absorbed in no time at all. With your baby, almond oil is particularly suitable for the care of the diaper area.
  • So that the oil can form a protective barrier, it is applied to dry skin in the diaper area.
  • By the way: Since almond oil is exceptionally mild, it is usually well tolerated by babies with neurodermatitis.

4. Removal of cradle cap in the infants with Almond Oil

  • The somewhat unsightly scales on your baby’s head usually form in the first few weeks of life.
  • It is a harmless skin irritation that does not cause your child any discomfort. If you still want to remove the
flakes for optical reasons, almond oil is a helpful helper.
  • Gently rub the head of your little explorer with it and let the oil soak in overnight.
  • The next morning you can carefully comb out the flakes or remove them with a soft cloth.
  • Since head gneiss can easily be confused with the disease cradle cap, if in doubt, contact your paediatrician.

Facts why almond oil is good for your skin

  • Unsaturated fatty acids are exceptionally mild.
  • They are related to our skin lipids, which is why your skin can process them with ease. They have a calming effect on stressed skin.
  • Almond oil is high in oleic acid. Their unique molecular structure allows them to penetrate deep into the skin.
It strengthens the deeper layers of skin, improves elasticity, and transported other agents deep into the skin.
  • Linoleic acid offers ceramides for a resilient skin barrier. At the same time, it has an anti-inflammatory effect and relieves irritation.
  • Vitamin E (tocopherol) is a nominal antioxidant that protects your skin from cell injury.
  • Good things don’t come along here because it also contains vitamins A, D, B, and various minerals – thanks to them, almond oil is also a hit for hair care.
  • It is structurally similar to the skin’s lipids and is non-comedogenic. In other words: it does not clog the pores.
  • It is the be-all and end-all in facial care; after all, you don’t want to pay for a well-groomed feeling with
    impurities.
